"I'm dating a non-showbiz guy. Kaya I am much happier now," said Pauleen Lunaabout her love life these days.

In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last May 2, the young star initially told the press to refer to her suitor as "W.G."

Last Wednesday night, May 16, Pauleen renewed her contract as product endorser with Pureform Cosmetics, maker of Renew Placenta whitening products, at Alex III Restaurant in Quezon City.

PEP was able to ask Pauleen about the identity of her suitor.

"Win Gatchalian," revealed Pauleen.

Win or Sherwin is the incumbent mayor of Valenzuela. The 33-year-old son of Filipino-Chinese businessman William Gatchalian recently ran for reelection.

Pauleen narrated, "I met him [Win] kami pa niMarvin [Agustin], so hindi ko masyado napansin si Mayor. Si ‘Mayor' ang tawag ko. Family friend namin siya. Pinakilala ng lola ko. We've been very good friends. But then funny, noong nag-break kami na Marvin, doon siya pumasok. Actually, hindi niya ako kilalang artista. He doesn't watch much ng local TV. Ngayon na lang siya sumisilip-silip sa Eat Bulaga!."

The young actress, who is also a resident of Valenzuela, helped in campaigning for her "friend."

"I had fun helping him kasi ang sarap tingnan ng mukha niya. 'Pag kinakantahan ko siya sa stage, nako-conscious! Win siya sa eleksiyon. Panalo, so everyone's very happy. Medyo magulo [ang bilangan], pero ahead naman siya," she smiled.

Since the campaign period began, Pauleen admits that she is still not sure if their friendship will lead to something else.

"Sabi niya nga, para daw kaming OFW," she said. "Nag-uusap lang kami sa telepono, kasi wala talagang time eh. When he wakes up and before he sleeps, kampanya talaga... Di ko pa alam [kung ano mangyayari], e, kasi kakatapos lang ng campaign. But before campaign, okay naman. Kaso nga lang noong nag-campaign, medyo na-busy siya with that."

She added, "He's a very nice guy. Very smart. Ang sarap kausap, very easy to talk to. And surprisingly, I found myself talking about politics na hindi ko naman talaga pinag-uusapan dati."

Is she ready to be the first lady of Valenzuela?

"Hindi pa, it's very far. Ang hirap! Naku, mai-stress na ako sa kanya. Kasi 'pag may problema siya, sinasabi niya sa akin kaya nai-stress ako. Sa akin siya kumukuha ng energy. Nakukuha naman niya lahat!" she ended. -- PEP
